Understanding sharing activity on your web site can give you insights as to what your most popular content is and how your visitors are sharing. In the Feb 2009 newsletter issued from ShareThis, they published sharing percentage among social media used by their members.

The Share Index Among Industrial Segments

The Share Index graph shows click-through (shares/pageviews) for different segments relative to the median rate for that publisher group. It helps us understand which segments share more content (health and news) as opposed to other segments (entertainment, sports, and video games). Note that an index score of 100 is the median for all publishers in the group.
